Hickory Street Annex is Dallas's most sustainable event venue. After all, gatherings have a large impact on the environment. We strive to offset that effect.

Construction

• The Annex is an excellent example of adaptive reuse (it was originally built to service Gulf Oil vehicles and has been preserved and renovated over the years)
• No-VOC paints and finishes
• Reclaimed architectural elements such as doors, light fixtures, etc.
• Cellulose insulation made from newspapers
• Instant hot water heaters in kitchen and restrooms
  

Day-to-Day

• We clean with non-toxic cleaners
• Recycled paper goods for kitchen and restrooms
• Marketing literature is all printed on recycled paper with soy based inks
• Electricity comes from 100% wind power

Events

• Vendors are strongly encouraged to recycle
• For every event, we make a contribution to www.AmericanForest.org to plant trees in an area that in need of restoration - the host will receive a certificate for the donation
