picture ledges

We noticed that our brides liked to hang things in the lobby so a few months ago we installed some narrow picture ledges on the long wall where you enter. I liked this photo from Bailey and Nathan's wedding (in the current issue of D Weddings). The photo was taken by

Kristin and Joseph's Wedding

Check out www.loveandlavendar.com they featured Kristin and Joseph's Wedding, we think it is too cute not to share.

We really love this wedding. The bride put together a really beautiful event with help from Couture Events by Lottie. Here is what they had to say about Kristin and Joseph’s special day: I am creating a new word for this wedding… earthchic. While Kristin loved textures like burlap, she still loved the frilly feel of ruffles. And while she adores moss, she still loves a clean and chic look. We really worked earthy elements into the wedding without going overkill and still keeping a classy appeal. There were so many beautiful details including an heirloom brooch bouquet by Red Sole Events, coloring station for the kiddos, props for the guests’ amusement, mismatched vintage china by Rent My Dust, personalized cd favors, a wishing tree, adorable programs by Southern Fried Paper, an elaborate treat spread by Legacy Cakes Grapevine, a super romantic bridal cake by Sugar Bee Sweets and one super cool ring bearer. It was such a wonderful day! We are lucky and blessed to know this couple and their beautiful family!

Meghan & Greg

Just in case you don't follow the 100 Layer Cake Blog (which you should), we are sharing these great pictures by Apryl Ann Photography of Meghan and Greg's beautiful wedding day. We love that Meghan made it all look so effortless. Thank you April Ann, and 100 Layer Cake for sharing!

When Meghan started collecting ideas for her wedding, she knew she wanted it to be less trendy and more timeless. Being a designer & letterer, all the paper goods were going to have her touch. The invitation and save the date were clean and modern, the calligraphy on the place setting cards were hand drawn, and the simple decor, florals and terrarium centerpieces together with the brick walls of their wedding venue, Hickory Street Annex were a beautiful mix of industrial and romantic. So happy Apryl Ann is sharing this one with us. We absolutely love it!

We had our family members and closest friends write small notes to both of us and read them before the ceremony. It was just a sweet time to slow down and breath in the day, and help us prepare for the sweet moment that was coming.

Meghan used her collection of glass treasure boxes as the starting point for the design of the wedding and quickly decided to use them as terrariums for the centerpieces. They were all vintage and thrift store finds except for the triangle one on the right. You can snag that one at Urban Outfitters!

Overall, we didn’t want anything to distract from what the main focus was, which was people and the beautiful coming together of conversations and love. We chose someplace with open space and lots of windows to give a serene but joyful mood.

Claire & Matt

Claire and Matt helped us finish up an amazing 2012. They were married here at Hickory Street Annex on December 29th 2012, and the day could not of been more beautiful. You would of never guessed it was the end of December. We loved the simple elegance of Claire and Matt's wedding, it was all about their love for one another and the two families coming together for a great night.  Guests left happy as can be with Gil's Elegant Catering and Sugar Bee Sweets on the menu, and Presley Miller did a great job getting everyone out on the dance floor.  Congratulations Claire and Matt!!

Thank you so much Margot for the breathtaking photos, we are thrilled to share them. Looking to book a photographer, florist or caterer? Claire had a great team of professionals for more information on them visit them at their site.

Christy & Ryan

Christy and Ryan truly had a night to remember, we love it when an event is unique and special to the couple. Matt popped the big question to Christy here at the annex which made choosing the venue easy! There were so many great details about this wedding but our favorite has to be the create your own float station! Perfect for a warm summer night.

Rev. Kenneth W. (Ken) Byrd

So it's no secret that we highly recommend Love Notes to our brides, they are seriously the best when it comes to needing a officiant for your wedding day. They are all pros at what they do, I believe they have seen it all so they know how to make your ceremony flawless. We recently had a bride change her ceremony time to be able to have Mr. Ken Byrd as her officiant. Ken is amazing, seriously one of our favorite people on this plant he has a way of bringing a sense of calm to couple that eases the entire process.

If you are needing someone for your upcoming nuptials I can't say enough great things about Ken and the entire Love Notes group. Ken keeps a blog about himself and his couples if you would like to learn more about Ken see the link below.
